🌎Pre-Game Worldbuilding

We build something together!

The general feeling I wanted to have was a combination of a few things:

  • The post-snap MCU, where there was a feeling of loss, hopelessness, and longing in the face of something more powerful than people could understand.

  • City of Heroes, with the way it has a world set up with various factions and global plots... all within a single metropolis.

  • The Graphic Novel era of comics, where death wasn't as rare as one would hope and heroes still tried to do good.

So I came up with the idea of Prodigia, a metropolis formed in the ruins of a former supervillain's base in northwestern Maine, built after World War 3. You can listen to the introduction for it here.

12/27/23: Deanna starts working on her character. Greece goes from being destroyed as collateral damage, to being filled with Nazis, to succumbing to an unknown fate. Her character begins to take shape. The WW3 battlescape gets talked about. What happened to the Greek Pantheon? Are they more than heroes, were they gods? Why did Greece get obliterated... and by who?

I flesh out one of the other heroes in the area as an NPC, Hellwrench. Desya Petrov is the son of Bianca Petrov, who's superhero alias was Hellwench. Empowered by the ability to control and manifest demonic energies, she unfortunately met her end during an alien invasion. His father, a normal individual who mourned the loss of his wife, decided that Desya would have nothing to do with magic and put him on the path of technology instead. Unfortunately for him, Desya's fate wasn't able to be changed, just redirected. A form of demonsmith, he blends technology and demons together and took up the alias Hellwrench as an homage to his beloved mother. Imagine a combination of Iron Man and Ghost Rider.
